As a hobby, I play the piano accordion. I have been playing it for quite a few years now, since I was in primary school. My teacher then was Sarah Langley, who now plays in the accordion ensemble Caprice. The fact that I had a good teacher does not make me a good player, though. I do not have the time or the inclination to become a brilliant musician. I enjoy being able to play the accordion competently, as I can easily just pick up the instrument and play any simple tune, or more complicated pieces with some practice.
Pictured is my Bugari accordion. It is a 4 treble reed instrument
The accordion is a wonderful instrument, because it is portable and yet capable of accompanying itself, and can be played very beautifully. I also like other instruments, but the accordion is the one that I know the best.
Below is my old 3-reed accordion that I have had for more than 10 years.
