Further information about Diplomacy (TM)*
Diplomacy is a boardgame set in early 20th century Europe. Players take
the role of one of the seven great European powers at that time. The game
involves tactical maneuvers, but the primary focus is on negotiating
alliances and making deals with other players. No player, however, is
bound to do what he or she says during negotiations, which adds a very
real dimension of treachery to the game.
Diplomacy has been called the "chameleon game" because it's very easy to
design variants on the basic games. Variants include a new map, new rules,
or both. Many variants have been coded into the Judge software, and can be
played on NZMB or any other Judge.

House rules:
NZMB has certain house rules for Game Masters and players. This is to
ensure smooth operation and that everyone has a good time playing on the
Judge.
-
The NZMB service is provided as-is. The administration makes no warranty
about the reliability of the software. We will attempt to correct problems
as swiftly as possible.
-
In all games, the house rules of the Game Master will be sovereign. The
Judgekeepers will only interfere with a GM's decision if it is proven that
the GM is cheating, partial, or if his actions are physically interfering
with the normal operation of the Judge software.
-
If a GM does not post house rules, the EP House rules will be assumed as
the default house rules for the game.
-
There will be, at most, seventy (70) games running at a time on NZMB.
This is enforced automatically by the Judge.
-
All games must have a Game Master (GM). Games without GMs will be
deleted by the Judgekeepers without warning.
-
The GM of a game is expected to respond to player concerns,
particularly regarding deadline extensions, within a reasonable period of
time. GMs who give up on games (i.e. stop paying attention or doing
general GMing duties) will have their mastering priveledges revoked. GMs
should inform players if they will be unavailable for a significant period
of time (more than a couple of days).
-
Notice on cheating.
Cheaters will be dealt with very severely. If a player has been caught
cheating, he or she will be banned from NZMB immediately. In addition, the
Judgekeepers will recommend he or she be banned from all other Judges as
well.
-
Any player who becomes abusive to a fellow player, a GM, or
the Judgekeepers, and persists even after a warning, will be banned from
the Judge.
-
In addition, the administration reserves the right to ban anyone whose
conduct hinders the enjoyment of this service for any other user(s).
